Ijaw, Urhobo Groups Demand Fresh INEC Ward Delineation in Warri

Representatives of the Ijaw and Urhobo ethnic nationalities in the Warri Federal Constituency have intensified calls for electoral reform.

The groups recently held several joint reviews and protests across key locations.

Their central demand is the immediate completion and implementation of a fresh INEC ward delineation exercise.

The delineation was ordered by a judgment of the Supreme Court.

It is meant to replace the existing ward structure in the area.

The groups describe the current structure as skewed and invalid.

The affected areas are Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West Local Government Areas.

Leaders from both ethnic nationalities say the existing delineation does not reflect demographic realities.

They argue that the flawed structure has distorted representation for years.

Joint meetings between Ijaw and Urhobo stakeholders have focused on a unified position.

The groups insist that INEC must comply with the court order without further delay.

They maintain that a credible delineation is critical for fair political representation in the constituency.
