
Mosogar Kingdom is filled with joy and celebration as Chief Barr. Napoleon Emefe was officially installed as the new Otota of Mosogar Kingdom. The historic coronation ceremony took place at the main palace of Mosogar Kingdom on Friday, March 13, 2026.
The event brought together traditional rulers, chiefs, political leaders, youths, women, and members of the community to witness the important event. HRM. Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka I, the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, presided over the ceremony and formally coronated Chief Barr. Napoleon Emefe as “Otota” traditional Prime Minister of Mosogar Kingdom.
Speaking shortly after the coronation, the monarch congratulated the new Otota and reminded him of the great responsibility that comes with the title. He urged Chief Emefe to always place the interest, unity, and development of Mosogar Kingdom above personal interest.
The royal father expressed confidence that Chief Emefe would use his experience, wisdom, and professional background to support the progress and peaceful administration of the kingdom. The monarch noted that the installation marks a significant moment in the history of Mosogar Kingdom, especially after the traditional office remained vacant for more than four years.
Chief Barr. Napoleon Emefe expressed deep appreciation to the monarch, chiefs, and the entire Kingdom for the confidence reposed in him. He described the honour as a great privilege and responsibility, promising to serve the kingdom with dedication and sincerity.
According to him, he will work closely with the Ovie, the Oguedion Council of Chiefs and Elders, as well as every organ of administration in the kingdom to promote peace, unity, and development. The Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Chris Onogba, congratulated the newly installed Otota and described the appointment as a well-deserved honour.
Hon. Onogba said the office of Otota carries enormous responsibility in guiding the affairs of the kingdom, noting that he is confident Chief Emefe will perform excellently because of his professional background as a Barrister and experienced administrator. He commended the monarch and traditional council for ensuring peace and unity in the kingdom.
Chief Barr. Napoleon Emefe began his educational journey at Zik Academy, Sapele, where he attended secondary school between 1970 and 1974. He later completed his Higher School Certificate (HSC) between 1975 and 1976.
He proceeded to Auchi Polytechnic, where he obtained an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Management between 1978 and 1980, and later an Higher National Diploma (HND) in Management from the same institution between 1980 and 1982. After his studies, he was enlisted in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and served in Maiduguri, Borno State, between 1982 and 1983.
The coronation ceremony attracted several prominent personalities and traditional leaders from within and outside Mosogar Kingdom, including the Ugo of Mosogar Kingdom, Chief Freeborn Nana, and other respected chiefs, Inotus, Egweya, youths, and members of the community.
