JAMB Extends 2026 Direct Entry Registration to May 8

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced a new deadline for 2026 Direct Entry registration.

The registration will now close on Thursday, May 8, 2026.

This extension shifts the cutoff from the earlier date of April 25, 2026.

The decision was confirmed by JAMB officials in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the Board, the move is to give candidates more time to register.

Several prospective applicants had appealed for an extension.

Many cited delays in obtaining required A’Level statements of results.

Others mentioned challenges with profile code generation and e-PIN purchase.

JAMB said it reviewed the appeals and agreed to accommodate candidates.

Registration for Direct Entry is ongoing at accredited CBT centres nationwide.

Candidates must present relevant academic qualifications for the DE process.

Accepted credentials include NCE, ND, HND, IJMB, JUPEB, and first degrees.

The Board emphasized that May 8 is the final deadline.

There will be no further extension after that date, officials stressed.

Applicants were advised to complete registration before the window closes.

JAMB also warned candidates against patronizing unapproved registration outlets.
