

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its formal Schedule of Activities and Timetable for the 2027 General Elections, as proposed by the National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu. This schedule aligns with the Electoral Act 2026 and the revised timelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In accordance with the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) Revised Timetable and Schedule of activities for the 2027 General Elections, I hereby present a proposed time-table and schedule of activities for the Conduct of the 2027 General Elections to the National Chairman/National Working Committee accordingly
APC Internal Election Timetable (Congresses & Convention)
The APC will first conduct internal congresses and a national convention to elect party leadership at all levels before the main primary elections.
February 2, 2026: Issuance of notices for Ward and Local Government (LGA) Congresses.
February 4 – 9, 2026: Sale and submission of forms for various party offices.
February 18, 2026: Ward Congresses nationwide.
February 20, 2026: Local Government Congresses.
March 7, 2026: State Congresses.
March 21, 2026: Zonal Congresses across the six geopolitical zones.
March 25 – 28, 2026: APC National Convention.
Election Schedule for 2027 Candidates
In accordance with INEC’s revised 2027 calendar, the APC and other political parties must adhere to the following statutory windows:
May 10, 2026: Deadline for the submission of digital membership registers to INEC (must be submitted at least 21 days before any primary).
April 23 – May 30, 2026: Window for conducting Party Primaries and resolving disputes.
August 19, 2026: Official commencement of campaigns for Presidential and National Assembly elections.
September 9, 2026: Official commencement of campaigns for Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
INEC 2027 General Election Dates
Following the enactment of the Electoral Act 2026, election dates were moved earlier than originally planned:
January 16, 2027: Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
February 6, 2027: Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Elections.
Nomination Form Fees (Proposed)
According to the All Progressives Congress latest structure, the total costs (Expression of Interest + Nomination Form) are:
Presidential: N100 million
Governorship: N50 million
Senate: N20 million
House of Representatives: N10 million
State House of Assembly: N5 million
