President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments into key federal education agencies.
The appointments affect the National Examinations Council, the National Board for Technical Education, and the National Library of Nigeria.
The announcement was conveyed on Wednesday through a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
According to the statement, the appointments are part of ongoing efforts to reposition critical institutions under the Federal Ministry of Education.
For the National Examinations Council, NECO, the President approved the appointment of a new Chairman and members of the Governing Board.
The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, also received a new Executive Secretary to steer technical and vocational education policy.
In the same directive, President Tinubu named a new National Librarian and Chief Executive Officer for the National Library of Nigeria.
The Presidency said the appointees were selected based on competence, professional track record, and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement noted that the new leadership is expected to drive reforms in examination standards, technical education, and national library services.
President Tinubu charged the appointees to uphold integrity, transparency, and innovation in the discharge of their duties.
He urged them to align their agencies with the administration’s goals of improving education quality and human capital development nationwide.
The appointments take immediate effect, and the new officers are expected to assume duties following documentation with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
